    Hello Avery,

I have not had these discussions with my coworkers, in fact my manager encouraged me to pursue further education including my educator. They were positive and even motivating to say the least. It is important to surround yourself with people who are inspiring and want what is best for you. Initially, I was afraid to speak on wanting to pursue further education because I won’t be the only one to admit that nursing school was challenging and an experience that I did not want to subject myself to again. I think the challenge and the hustle everyday for 3 years kept me in a fight or flight mode that it has never truly dissipated. I feel that those people who are negative towards returning to school have not healed from that rollercoaster we all experienced. Do not let negative comments or influence deter you from your end goal.

    Hi Gabriela,

This is a topic not discussed enough, during seminar week I spoke to a few of our classmates to address how they are managing their time with us working stull full-time yet doing schooling full-time. I know some of us are doing the part-time route but reality is that the program turns into full-time after core classes are completed. This can be stressful because if we do not have a strong support system then we might be discourage to continue or may affect our grading. It is important to seek outside resources and take time for self-care even if it is for a few hours. It is crucial to fulfill our own cup before we can fill someone else’s.

    Hi Alyssa,

This is a great question. As discussed during our seminar there are so many obstacles being exercised between NPs and Physicians in the practice. We discussed that NPs are precepting new grad NPs into the clinical practice because medicine can be different as our approach is considered more “nursing”. I think we are in a phase where many registered nurses are seeking advance education and physicians are being apprehensive with a new modern medicine that NPs now will be playing in healthcare. Of course this is not the case everywhere because many physicians will accept this transition to alleviate longer working hours for them, inpatient or outpatient.
