60 nursing programs opening, expanding, ending in 2025

Here are nursing programs that are opening, expanding, and ending in 2025.

1. The University of South Florida St. Petersburg is launching a four-year nursing program that is expected to accept 85 students.
2. The University of South Carolina Beaufort received a four-year, $3.8 million grant that will be used for nursing student financial support, tutoring, peer mentoring, workshops, expanded clinical partnership and training, and a 12-month transition-to-practice program.
3. The University of Indianapolis launched a Master of Science in Nursing adult-gerontological acute care nurse practitioner program.
4. Aurora, Colo.-based Galen College of Nursing partnered with HCA Healthcare to open a new nursing campus.
5. The University of Texas at Tyler opened a renovated School of Nursing building—a $35 million project.
6. Boston-based Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has partnered with Northeastern University, also in Boston, to enhance training for the next generation of oncology nurses.
7. Morgantown-based West Virginia Junior College School of Nursing is offering its RSN-BSN program online and has shortened the program to six months.
8. McPherson (Kan.) College has partnered with the Lawrence-based University of Kansas School of Nursing to complete their Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the KU campus or online.
9. Macon, Ga.-based Mercer University is expanding its nursing program to its Macon campus, with an inaugural class of 26 students.
10. Knoxville-based UT Medical Center expanded its longstanding partnership with the University of Tennessee Knoxville College of Nursing by investing in a new facility and additional scholarships for students.
11. Little Rock, Ark.-based University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences plans to expand its certified registered nurse anesthetist program to the Northwest Regional Campus in Fayetteville this fall.
12. Winona Lake, Ind.-based Grace College is adding a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in fall 2026.
13. Des Moines-based Grand View University is the first university in Iowa to partner with the National Alliance on Mental Illness to embed its provider certification into the college’s nursing program.
14. Cleveland, Miss.-based Delta State University completed expansion and renovations on its school of nursing, adding about 21,000 additional square feet. 
15. UCLA School of Nursing will now be the UCLA Joe C. Wen School of Nursing after receiving a $30 million commitment, the largest in the school’s history.
16. A $2.35 million gift from the Farmer Family Foundation to Aurora, Colo.-based UC Health will provide incentives to students to practice at the hospital post-graduation in any neurology practice training. 
17. Minot (N.D.) State University signed an agreement with Northland Community and Technical College in East Grand Forks, Minn., to allow nursing students automatic entry into MSU’s online Bachelor of Science in Nursing Completion Program.
18. Cleveland, Ohio-based Ursuline College is working to train more urgent and emergency care practitioners, while the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals are coordinating with the school to train more nursing instructors.
19. Manchester-based University of New Hampshire is launching a school of nursing that brings all its existing nursing programs—including in-person, online, undergraduate, and graduate programs—under one roof.
20. Florence, S.C.-based McLeod Health donated more than $200,000 to nursing programs at Francis Marion University in Florence, Hartsville, S.C.-based Coker University, and Florence-Darlington Technical College to help expand access.
21. The Charleston-based Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing is launching an acute care pediatric nurse practitioner program, set to begin in fall 2026.
22. St. Louis-based SSM Health, which operates 23 hospitals across four states, unveiled a program designed to produce 400 additional nursing graduates annually.
23. Oceanside, Calif.-based MiraCosta College was awarded a $1.2 million grant to increase enrollment by 18 students annually and develop an apprenticeship program for licensed vocational nurses.
24. Tuscaloosa-based the University of Alabama Capstone College of Nursing, the Office of Teaching Innovation and Digital Education, and DCH Health System partnered to advance nursing education.
25. Hampton (Va.) University is reopening its nursing master’s degree program.
26. SUNY Brockport (N.Y.) launched its School of Nursing on July 1.
27. Buckhannon-based West Virginia Wesleyan College School of Nursing has launched an LPN to BSN pathway.
28. Madison, Wis.-based Edgewood College is opening a Doctor of Nursing Practice program focused on nurse anesthesia.
29. Durant-based Southeastern Oklahoma State University is opening a bachelor of science in nursing program.
30. Burlington-based University of Vermont opened a new Licensed Nursing Assistant course designed specifically for students pursuing a baccalaureate degree outside of traditional nursing tracks.
31. New Jersey City University revamped its Nursing Education Center, which reopened to students on June 12.
32. Brimly, Mich.-based Bay Mills Community College will begin offering courses in licensed practical nursing.
33. The Arkansas Health Care Association is launching a nursing school for association members with employees pursuing a practical nurse license.
34. UTHealth Houston will offer free in-state tuition for eligible students in its accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program who annually earn less than $100,000.
35. The Penn State DuBois Continuing Education program will launch its new licensed practical nursing program in August.
36. New Haven-based Southern Connecticut State University partnered with New Haven High School to allow students to complete certified nursing assistant courses.
37. Greenville, N.C.-based East Carolina University is launching a first-of-its-kind medic-to-nurse program that will bring military medics through the accelerated Bachelor of Science program in the College of Nursing.
38. Nashville-based Vanderbilt University School of Nursing is working to establish a nurse anesthesia program in summer 2026.
39. Newark, Del.-based ChristianaCare honored the first four clinical nurses that completed its Nursing Research Fellowship in Robotics and Innovation.
40. Mildred Elley, a college in Albany, N.Y., opened a new location that offers classes for students working toward a licensed practical nursing or clinical medical assistant certificate.
41. Huron (S.D.) Regional Medical Center opened the first registered nursing apprenticeship program for English-as-a-second-language nurses.
42. Cleveland, Wis.-based Lakeshore College and UW-Green Bay opened a program that will allow students pursuing a teaching or nursing degree to study at both institutions.
43. Williamsport-based Pennsylvania College of Technology is expanding its Workforce Development practical nursing program.
44. Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare is partnering with Quinnipiac University to launch a two-year, part-time educational program aimed at helping mid-career professionals transition into nursing.
45. The Morgantown, W.Va.-based WVU Medicine is opening a hospital-based associate degree nursing program.
46. Richmond, Va.-based VCU Health, in partnership with Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing, is offering a guaranteed admission pathway for registered nurses to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
47. Albany (N.Y.) College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, in partnership with St. Peter’s Health Partners, will launch a new nursing associate of science degree and a bachelor of science degree in Fall 2025.
48. Boston College Connell School of Nursing launched its new master of science degree program in nurse-midwifery.
49. Mitchell, S.D.-based Dakota Wesleyan University is launching a new two-year nursing program in Sioux Falls in August.
50. Sacramento-based The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis has earned accreditation for its doctor of nursing practice—nurse anesthesia degree program.
51. Englewood, Colo.-based Rocky Vista University is launching Colorado’s first doctor of anesthesia practice program.
52. Wilmore, Ky.-based Asbury University opened a Bachelor of Science in nursing program starting in fall 2025.
53. The University of Akron (Ohio) launched an Early Assurance Pathway to the Nurse Anesthesia Program for high school students interested in the field.
54. Orlando, Fla.-based Valencia College is adding a nursing simulation center to its program.
55. Escanaba, Mich.-based Bay College is ending its practical nurse program for the 2025-26 academic year.
56. A hospice clinical manager in Mount Prospect, Ill., opened a nursing college for prospective certified nursing assistants and phlebotomists.
57. Springfield (Mass.) Technical Community College opened an accelerated registered nurse program for licensed practical nurses, paramedics, and military medics wanting to advance their careers.
58. Montgomery, Ala.-based Faulkner University opened a Bachelor of Science in nursing program.
59. Phoenix-based Arizona College of Nursing, a private, for-profit education entity, opened in January.
60. UC Davis (California) lowered the tuition costs for its PhD in nursing science program thanks to a $3 million donation.
