    Mr. Timothy Ryan Taylor, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC is currently in private psychiatric practice at an outpatient clinic in northeastern Kentucky, and has been a registered nurse for over 9 years. He has earned both a BA in history and BSN with honors from Shawnee State University. Mr. Taylor has also received his MSN and post-master’s certificate from the University of Cincinnati. During his MSN program, he was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. Currently, Mr. Taylor is a doctoral student at Eastern Kentucky University, and is anticipated to graduate in 2025 with a DNP degree. Mr. Taylor is dual board certified as a family nurse practitioner and psychiatric – mental health nurse practitioner. Fundamentally, an unwavering commitment to the standards of scientific evidence guides his approach to nursing.

    In regard to his current scholarship and doctoral project, Mr. Taylor is currently in the preliminary stages of devising a quality improvement proposal. He is particularly interested in the clinical monitoring of psychiatric patients for extrapyramidal symptoms whilst prescribed antipsychotic medication. His project seeks to implement evidence-based strategies in the clinical setting with the purpose of improving and standardizing the assessment of side effects in patients taking neuroleptic drugs.

    Mr. Taylor’s primary personal pursuit is reading and book collecting, which derives from his intellectual interest in a vast range of academic subjects, including biological anthropology, history, philosophy, psychology, and numerous fields of science. He is also a pianist, and greatly enjoys private study of pieces from the classical repertoire.
