The issue of doctor title has come up in my DNP course. If this issue had not come to my attention, I would not have known that it was against the law to use the Dr. title. Doctor of Nursing Practice is the expert clinician and terminal degree for the field of nursing, therefore the best possible candidate for being involved in healthcare policy. Comment on your involvement as a DNP in policy making in your setting. Do you feel as the expert clinician, DNP should be more involved in policy making at the legislative level.
